Trash and Recycle Schedule

 The following is the Allied Waste 2011 holiday schedule:

 
New Years Day – Saturday, January 1, 2011
– No change in schedule. 

Memorial Day – Monday, May 30, 2011 – Trash will be delayed one (1) day all week. 

4th of July – Monday, July 4, 2011 – Trash will delayed one (1) day all week 

Labor Day – Monday, September 5, 2011 – Trash will delayed one (1) day all week 

Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 24, 2011 – Trash will be delayed one day on Thursday and Friday.  Thursday schedule will be picked up on Friday, Friday schedule will be picked up on Saturday. 

Christmas Day:  Sunday, December 25, 2011 – No change in trash schedule. 

New Years Day – Sunday, January 1, 2012 – No change in trash schedule. 
 

LARGE ITEMS:  Allied Waste will pick up one (1) large item per week along with your normal household trash.  Examples include:  mattresses, furniture such as bookcases, end tables, chairs, etc. (exception includes a sleeper sofa or items too large for one person to handle), carpet cut in four (4) foot lengths and tied, barbeque grills excluding propane tanks, and electronics.  If you have a question as to whether or not they will pick up a particular item please call Allied Waste Customer Service at 479-855-4226

Bella Vista residents are asked to have their trash out by 6:00 a.m. on their scheduled trash day.  No yard waste will be picked up with regular household trash. 

If you miss getting your trash out on time, you may take your trash to the transfer station located at 36 Bella Vista Way.  (Hwy. 71 north to Bear Hollow Road, turn to the west).  Please take Drivers License/POA Card with you as proof of residency. 

RECYCLING;  Residents may subscribe for this service with Allied Waste at no charge.  Pick up is the second full week of the month.  Items picked up include paper, newspaper, plastic, aluminum, tin and cardboard.  Please call Allied Waste Customer Service at 479-855-4226 to arrange for this service.  

Recycle items may also be taken to the AARP Recycling Center off of Hwy. 41 just north of the TH Rogers Lumber Company. 

YARD WASTE PICK UP:  Residents may subscribe for this service for a monthly fee to be paid annually.  Please call Allied Waste Customer Service at 479-855-4226 to enroll in this service. 

Yard waste may also be taken to the Stump Dumps (free of charge).  Locations are as follows: 

Trafalgar Road (East side) – Fredericks Stump Dump:  Take Trafalgar Road approximately 3 miles east of Hwy. 71 to directly across from the Blue Mountain Storage facility.  This stump dump is closed during wet weather.  To make sure the stump dump is open please contact the Bella Vista Village Construction and Maintenance Division at 479-855-5060. 

Highlands Stump Dump (west side):  From the intersection of Hwy. 340 and Hwy. 279, go west through the Highlands Gate, go approximately 5.8 miles on Highlands Blvd.  At the White Church (Donovan Full Gospel Church) there is a sign that says “Highland Gun Range/Trap and Skeet”, also a Benton County road sign “Rocky Dell Hollow Road”.  Turn left at these signs and go approximately 7/10 mile.  Turn at the cedar tree and take the dirt road into the Highlands Stump Dump. 

            General Rules:

  1. No cutting of wood in the dump

  2. No household trash

  3. No commercial building material

  4. No fee but you must be a property owner

  5. If hired by a property owner to haul brush, the hauler must be able to verify that they have been hired by a resident.

Both recycling and trash schedule may be subject to change during severe or inclement weather.  Contact Bella Vista City Hall at 876-1255 or Allied Waste Customer Service at 479-855-4226 should additional scheduling information be needed 

Other helpful information: 

Bella Vista Recycling Center (AARP) – 400 Pinion Bluff Drive, Bella Vista – Phone 479-876-5343.  Items accepted include:  Newspaper, chipboard, cardboard, magazines, telephone books, plastics, glass (clear, green, brown), and aluminum.  They are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  All proceeds from the sale of items are funneled back into the community.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Norm the Tire Man -  809 SW Eighth Street, Bentonville – Phone 479-273-0141.  Accepts tires.  There may be fee for this service.
